Players comparing Mobalytics PoE2 builds should start with a practical question: what keeps the character effective when encounters become messy? The Pure Physical Martial Artist and Spark Stormweaver answer it differently, and smart Path of Exile 2 Currency planning depends on understanding those requirements before expensive upgrades.

Two Builds, Two Ways to Scale

The Martial Artist concentrates power into heavy physical attacks, maximum-damage modifiers, stun control, and life leech. Its quarterstaff, passive choices, and support gems should reinforce one event: landing a powerful physical hit. This focused design feels excellent when enemies stay within reach and the player maintains the skill sequence.

Spark Stormweaver scales through repetition instead. Spark fills the screen with projectiles while Orb of Storms adds lightning strikes whenever spells are cast nearby. Cast speed, spell levels, mana sustain, and elemental resistance reduction become more valuable than one enormous hit. The result is a smoother ranged playstyle with strong area coverage.

Which Build Fits Your Progression Plan?

Spark is the easier starting point for a fresh character because it becomes available early and remains useful throughout the campaign. Players can improve it gradually with better wands, cast speed, mana regeneration, and defensive equipment. A later critical-strike and Comet direction is attractive, but only after Spirit, energy shield, and resource requirements are comfortable.

The Martial Artist is better suited to players who already understand melee positioning or are prepared to invest in a specific endgame setup. Its performance depends heavily on a high physical-damage quarterstaff, reliable leech, and coordinated bell effects. Until those pieces are ready, the character may feel inconsistent despite impressive damage in build planners.

1) Save materials for upgrades that improve the build's primary damage pattern.

2) Farm content where your chosen range and recovery system remain reliable.

3) Replace defensive gear before chasing small increases in displayed damage.

Practical Strengths and Failure Points

Martial Artist recovery is powerful because offense and defense share the same engine. Large physical hits create meaningful leech, while Vaal Pact increases the amount recovered over a longer period. That strength disappears when an encounter disables leech, interrupts bell placement, or forces constant movement. Players must read modifiers rather than assuming a large life pool solves every problem.

Stormweaver has fewer positioning demands, but its damage falls sharply when mana pressure interrupts casting. Orb of Storms also loses value when placed outside the fighting area. Keep mana regeneration, cost reduction, and defensive layers in balance; a small damage upgrade is rarely worthwhile if it prevents continuous Spark casts.

Check whether each upgrade supports physical hits or repeated spell casting.
Test boss damage with realistic buffs, movement, and resource conditions.
Keep a reserve for resistance changes and endgame equipment transitions.

Endgame Efficiency and Common Mistakes

For farming, Stormweaver generally offers safer screen coverage and faster movement through open areas. It can clear while staying at range, making it attractive for players learning new maps. Martial Artist can rival that efficiency in dense encounters, especially when stuns and bell interactions remain active, but its route selection matters more because downtime between targets reduces both damage and recovery.

The biggest mistake is copying a finished setup before reaching its required thresholds. Do not add critical investment to Stormweaver without enough chance and mana support, and do not dilute Martial Artist with damage types that weaken its physical and leech focus. Build guides are most useful as decision frameworks, not shopping lists.

Choose Martial Artist for deliberate melee sequencing and concentrated scaling. Choose Stormweaver for ranged coverage, gradual upgrades, and a forgiving campaign route. In either case, reserve POE 2 Chaos Orbs for upgrades that solve a real weakness rather than merely raising a tooltip number.
